Picking up on what Sancho Panza wrote and something I often think about, who are the bands we want to know more about or that are complete mysteries? Please add to this list and I for one will try to dig up some info:

California:
Caretakers of Deception

Oregon/Washington:
Jolly Green Giants

Texas:
Actioneers
Stereo Shoestring

Of course, the Stereo Shoestring isn't really a mystery, we have all the names of the band and Richard wrote:

I was in the band till I left for college. We only recorded the one 45. We went to Houston to record it on a weekend. We stayed at the downtown Holiday Inn and Paul Revere and the Raiders stayed one floor above us after playing a concert. A guy let us into the recording studio through a backdoor on a Sunday and we recorded both A&B sides that day. Think the guy pocketed the money because I am sure the studio cost more than the $400 we paid for the day. Ashley passed away in Nov/2013 in Tulsa Oklahoma after a life long career selling records for others to enjoy.

The Gnomes and The Satans are my top two. Chris...did you follow the leads on your Caretakers of Deception page? I contacted the songwriter based on the comments on the Garage Hangover page.

T. Jones was a little vague for me to follow, but I see someone suggested Thomas Chase Jones back in April and I hadn't followed up yet.

I HAVE NEVER SEEN IT AND I GREW UP IN GROVE CITY PA WHEN THEY EXISTED. I HAVE DISCUSSED THIS 45/BAND WITH MY FRIENDS THERE AND NO ONE KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT THEM ALTHOUGH SOMEONE IN THE BAND WAS FROM GROVE CITY. IN OUR 1965 YEARBOOK THERE IS A PHOTOO OF A GUY PLAYING HIS GUITAR, SO WE THINK HE MAY HAVE BEEN IN THE IMPACTS BUT WHEN ATTEMPTING TO LOCATE HIM WE FOUND OUT HE WAS DECEASED. I HOPE TO FIND ONE IN A YARD SALE IN GROVE CITY/FRANKLIN.

I was the one who commented on the CoD. I acutally contacted T. Jones in march, but didn't get any response.

I was in contact with Richard Lalor from Stereo Shoestring about two years ago (?) and I have some questions and answers, I think, from the songwriter from The Inferno.

I still want to know, from the anyone who was in, Scorpio Tube.

I'd thought one of the Jolly Green Giants had a Kingsmen connection but I guess that was just because of that song. You know more about them now than the old History Of NW Rock LP liners anyway! I'll ask around amongst older heads, someone might have posters or photos. :sunny:

I did a full phone interview with James Coco from Stereo Shoestring a couple years ago. Ive been meaning to post it on my blog! I wanted to wait to get a little more unique content, but I might as well since I named the dang blog after them!

I demand that you post that now!
