Hello all -
Sad news, my good pal Masterbeat64 has passed on recently in peace at home after a long illness. He was a man of great kindness in sharing both his record collection of garage & rockabilly with me over the years. Old timers here will remember him sharing many of his sides on the old forum with us on great home made CDRs. He was also very active with stereo equipment and had great knowledge of the ins & out of tube equipment.
It gets tough to loose great friends and those that share common interests. We should all put a little more effort into staying in touch with each other.
My best thoughts to him & his lovely wife -

I only knew him only from his recent posts linked above. From his writing, he obviously had a sharp mind. His passion for music was also evident. It is an uncommon thing to maintain passion and sharpness of mind till the end, and a gift to be treasured. God rest his soul!

As generous as masterbeat64 was via his array of home-made CD compilations of rockabilly & garage, even better were his firsthand recollections regarding the music he loved and his record collecting exploits. I feel very fortunate to have known him through our G45 forum.

I'm very sorry to hear this. I love all the forum comps he shared with us, and in addition to his excellent garage CDs, he introduced me to a lot of great rockabilly stuff I had never heard before.

Very sad news. My only interactions with him were on the old forum and as many have already said, he was very generous in sharing his music and knowledge. Godspeed in your journey.

That is unbelievably sad. He was my original and only source for 60's garage bands & songs from the old Garage Punk Forum days. Long before I had ever read Mike Markesich's book and had no clue what Teen Beat Mayhem was while my only exposure to the genre was Back From The Grave and Teenage Shutdown.

The world just got a lot smaller without him.

RIP my friend!

So sorry to hear that. I got a lot of forum comps from him back in the days. He had great taste and i've recently very much enjoyed his posts on this forum. He will be missed! RIP my friend i've never met
