Mickey Dolenz as lead vocalist for Missing Links ?

I saw an old interview with Peter Tork (really painful to sit through) I think it was with David Letterman (pretty painful in its own right) Where Mr. Tork mentioned Mr. Dolenz had been singing with a band called The Missing Links. While that may be a relatively common name for a band, is it at all possible the version of that combo is something we have been exposed to here ?
