Mystery TX garage band acetate

Yeah, its really a great one... The skips drove me nuts when I first played it. There aren't any deep scratches so its possible they could be fixed. Not sure!

It's probably not the same band, but McAllen, TX band Christopher & The Souls were actually The Souls, with Christopher adding vocals. Checking a map, it's a long way from Fort Worth to McAllen...
Anyway, it's a great, great acetate!

I have friend in Chicago that fixes skips in records. He's very good at it and only charges a small fee. I just mailed him a $1500 soul 45 I scored on that had one jump in it to fix. Definitely worth a shot. Not sure about acetates, but I'm sure he could do it. You can find him on Facebook, Bob Abrahamian. Tell him Mike told you.

Yes, I considered the possibility of it being the McAllen group, but it seems unlikely. I don't think they ever have mentioned doing any other recordings other than the ones on the Pharaoh 45. Plus, that it is pretty great distance from McAllen to Forth Worth! Also, it certainly doesn't sound like the same group... Though that doesn't always mean that it isnt.
