I have a few and like them, will absolutely pick up more when opportunity knocks. But I have no idea if they overlap other comps or not. Bonus points for label scans in color. Minus points for butt ugly pornography. Fun the first time, not so much the tenth time you stare into someone's privates.

I have 15 or 16 out of a total of 20 (?) volumes. (even a spare or two Thomas 
) Compiled in Germany me thinks. Love the "pornographic " label scans, so so with the naked flesh and action. Not the kind of records to float around your livingroom.
Musicwise I find them great. I´m not that much into rockabilly, but this is good shite, well recomended.
They should be sold with a brown paper bag............

Anything Ace touches is great but they are not a Rockabilly label (although they have some rockabilly releases) I was just saying "Bear Family & the Buffalo Bop series are a great place to start if you wanna start building a Rockabilly collection in top quality and quantity.

When they hit those howlin' hillbillies Ace does a bang up job - they're easy to pick up as well. Wish they'd put out more of those RAB comps as they've been combing through the Gusto catalog of King and Starday/Dixie. Bear hasn't done much with those labels for the most part, and there's a lot of goodies to be had.

Ace has really cooled off issuing anything that is greater that 50 years old over the last few years. After purchasing the Modern catalogue along with a variety of smaller labels (mostly west coast R&B) I believe anything greater than 50 years old now seems to be "public domain" in many of the European countries & the material can be issues at will. Ace has been focusing more on soul & post 1961 recordings as of late.
Nasty Rockabilly has just had the entire series of 20 or so LP issues as a limited edition CD box set. I have had a number of the LP & the theme of the covers wears off quickly. That said, I found the selections to be much more consistent than Buffalo Bops. For my ears, Buffalo Bop issues some great rockabilly but they also have a liking for generic white rock & roll that is filler. I looked into the Nasty Rockabilly box & there is a very high duplication percentage with the style I like on Buffalo Bop CDs. I recently went through about 80 Buffalo Bops & narrowed the sides I liked down to sixteen 24 cut comps = that is just under 400 sides down from around 2400 to pick from. For my taste, the Nasty Rockabilly sets have a higher percentage of rockabilly & hick sides than Buffalo Bop. I've heard the Nasty sets on LP & if I were starting from scratch with them I would go for the CD sets as the pressings on LPs are only average. Keep in mind there is a good chance that the folks @ Nasty may have "borrowed" a dub or two from Buffalo Bop as many of these 45s are beyond rare.
