Nerdy Chocolate Watch Band question...

Not 7'' related, but I'm sure there's still some people on this board with a couple of Lps on their shelves, who might be able to help.

There seems to be 2 different (original?) 60s pressings of the NO WAY OUT album. Both come with the typical heavy cardboard sleeve and both seems to be of the heavy wax Tower kind. BUT their central label differ. Some copies display this label like this:

when some other feature a slightly alternate design, with the track listing beginning above the central hole:

Does anybody knows the story behind those 2 pressings ? Are they both original ? Is the second one of the bootleg kind ?
Thanx for your help !

Most likely it was just down to using a different plant for both pressings. There's usually some slight variant from plant to plant.
Ask a Beatles collector, they'll tell you. although, I really couldn't imagine chasing down 20 different varaiants of a handful of LP's. Not quite sure how they stay motivated......:screwy:

Good thing they didn't have bar codes back then! "Ummm...I'm looking for a copy of the HELP! LP with the colored band around the label, serial number XXXX-XXXX, small logo on back cover, with the RARE SKU number....and it must be Mint!"

Sorry if this actually applies to anyone.

As I recall Tower pressings often have a single digit number on the bottom of the back cover near the spine that corresponds to the pressing plant. Both should be originals. Seems to be consistent for stereo & mono copies.

See these recently listed examples:

a number 6 on the cover and track list starting on the top half:
