Over the years I sent out at least 1000 tracks mastered from records in my collection, free of charge to anyone who wanted 'em. Including over 600 FLAC files posted on the forums, including the forum comps, Wyld Canada (nearly 200 in that series), Secret Society downloads, expanded Psychedelic Disaster Whirl, Fenton catalog, G45 Unwaxed and "you-know-what" currently at the Secret Society Bunker. Before that I used to send out free comp CDs to collectors worldwide. There were at least 20 CDs worth of those, including 5 sets of Texas Sizzlers, the first ever multi-CD PNW compiilation, multi-CD Florida series, multi-CD Minnesota series. In total I sent out more than 800 free CDs made and posted at my own expense to collectors around the world. That's not counting the 1,100 tracks I sent MTM for TBM panel ratings. As well as that I've mastered tracks free of charge for Norton, Big Beat, Frantic, Crypt, Way Back, Caped Crusader and various non-legit operations too dubious to mention.
I may seem to be braggin', but I don't think I'm any different from the majority of members of G45 Central, including MTM, Joey, Expo, Mr. Segment, Ned, eargasm, greenfuz, westex, Don Julio, soundog, Jeffers66, massb, Mans.... I have to stop there because there are SO MANY guys on this forum who have shared stuff from their bunkers for free, because of enthusiasm and love for '60s garage music.
Up to half of the "Revenge 66" release is taken from my posts and free CDs. Definitely IVBidden, Page Boys, Tempos, Mogen David. Probably Striders, Dominions and Oedipus & The Mothers. I've already made it clear that I don't care if people use my transfers for their other projects. It just makes me a lot happier if a little thought and respect is put into the job, especially if it's going to be sold for a high price. For example, why should IVBidden be listed as ? when a quick google search will reveal that it's from a tape I discovered from the Fine Recording Studio, Rochester, NY.
