Joey I'm not a Hippy.... I just dig records, guitars and smoke cigarettes.
Most of us around these parts aren't into Hippies...In the 70's I had hair down to my ass, I never was a hippie. If you're waiting for hippies to show up around here, you may have a bit of a wait. Although, when all those vegatarians turned up yesterday, maybe I'm wrong:oops:
That said, if someone issued a boot of all the Milky Way stuff, I would buy it. They would be offering me something that the original compiler refused me.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, ACE has some of the best product on the market. Well researched, fantastic sound, great pics. Everything the collectors of this genre demand. That said, if someone issued a boot of all the Milky Way stuff, I would buy it. They would be offering me something that the original compiler refused me.
Why not? I already fucking gave ACE their money. And purchased music that I want in a format that I detest. So Ace has some of the best product but you would still buy a boot of the stuff they own??? Your 2 cents mean nothing to me.![]()

It's called capitalism you right wing wind bag. And ignoring what your customer wants means your not very good at it. It also means that someone else will make a buck on your smug igonrance. Right or wrong. It's a fact.
I think the answer here is painfully obvious, and the crux of my argument. Why won't anyone boot my legit releases Joey? Because no one wants them? Because they're afraid of a lawsuit? No Joey. It's because I gave them what they wanted in the first place. Legit vinyl releases of everything I've ever recorded. Being early to the game and delivering a quality product is huge. Taking into consideration the buying habits of your intended consumer is also key. And that consumer is not just impatient old me as you so skillfully assumed. You see, this shows your hand in a nutshell. Glad you're seeing the writing on the wall. Too bad the writing is 30 years old.Every label I know including my label Frantic sees the writing on the wall and are ramping up their vinyl releases as we speak. Just 'cause you want the MILKY WAY Story on vinyl right now and can't wait for ACE to re-release it, doesn't mean they are going to drop everything for you right now to get it out. These things take a lot of money and time. Aren't you in some punk band? If so, how would you like it if someone booted your stuff???
Guess I'll throw my two cents in and that's all it is. My two cents. I don't buy comps. I have little to no interest in them. I prefer a burned disc or in the old days a cassette of friends finds, radio shows, etc... that kind of thing.

Wrong...the label that put that out licensed it from Ace.That's why there is currently a briskly selling boot of Dean Carter's "I got a girl".
Unfortunately you are speaking with someone who has released many records so you don't have a leg to stand on with either of these arguments being valid in your case. Sorry. Try again.
and what is it exactly that they gotta do... ?You assume all people want records and not cds. I have 20,000 cds and other than you guys on this forum I don't know anyone who collects records only cds and they are pissed that downloads are taking over. So it's a 2 way street buddy. When Norton started putting out Lp only releases I was upset but not at them just the circumstances. They gotta do what they gotta do...
Sure did. When people wanted them. Loads of them. At their fucking zenith still only slightly above vinyl record sales. and that was a very small window of time in the continuum of garage record collecting. Now, not so much but enough to service the CD buying public. Do you detect a trend in my thinking? Look at it hard. It'll come to you.Did you release all or any of your lp's on cd?
