dear people did any of you see paul revere and the raiders live in 1966 and 1967 i wonder who was opening act and on what shows did phil volk miss because of laryngitis

I saw Paul Revere & the Raiders in 1966 @ the Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford, Conn. The opening acts were :

Chad & Jeremy
The Shags
George's Boys (apparently with Michael Bolton as lead vocalist) and they were one of thee best band I saw in that era

As well as I remember, Volk was present - & yes, Mr. Lindsay "allowed" his belt to fall forward in a position that "grabbed the little girls attention"

Michael Bolton? What is your source for that info? Never heard that connection before...

michael bolotin made his first solo album in 1975 then formed blackjack with bruce kulick of kiss fame in 1966 michael bolton would've been 13

A former record shop coworker who had been in several New Haven area bands in the mid 1960s was the source of the info. One day I casually mentioned I had seen George's Boys & he mentioned that Michael Boloton was the vocalist. My inclusion of "apparently" was based on this info. If Bolotin was indeed 13 years old @ the time, I guess that would question the info. My comment was never made to mislead anyone with inaccurate info. George's Boys, whomever the vocalist may have been, were an excellent band that had obviously seen the Rolling Stones TAMI Show appearance.

I may have a photocopy of the Oakdale ad for the show & I will look around the house for it.

Didn't George's Boys evolve into The Bram Rigg Set? I think I remember reading that in the Sundazed liner notes...

EXPO67 has some info here about the George's Boys/ Bram Rigg Set connection:
http://expo67-cavestones.blogspot.de/2008/10/bram-rigg-set-take-time-be-yourself.html
George's Boys had members who later left the group and perfromed as the Bram Rigg Set. George's Boys continued for only a short time later.

Two unreleased Bram Rigg Set tracks on the Sundazed comp are erroneously credited to them:
"Sleepless Nights" - actually recorded by the Ravens, an updated version, different than their '65 single version)
"Luv" - was recorded by the Road Runners, from Wallingford CT. The version on the Sundazed Don't Press Your Luck" comp is an alternate version, another version was recorded and issued on an acetate as part of Arf Arf's "New England Teen Scene: Unreleased" 2 CD series back int he '90s.

I corrected the info, and Sundazed reprinted the CD jacket liners showing the corrections and a couple of bonus photos. Early pre-release and promo copies have the uncorrected liner notes.
