The Plague of Fenton classic "I've Been Through It Before" are reuniting and doing a show tomorrow night near Lansing MI! Its all original members but the drummer, and they are going to focus on playing their original 45 tracks as originally recorded. There are other acts, and members of the Beaux Jens, Ones, are to be there, with (perhaps more popular locally) Plague spin-off Plain Brown Wrapper presumably headlining.

A few videos of the Plagues show are up - they sounded pretty good! I tried to make it, but alas Freddy F and I were halfway there when we got the dreaded text "They're on NOW!" Being 45 minutes away, we decided to bag it. Drat!

This is "I've Been Through It Before," two other songs should follow if you keep watching.

Instrumentally, they actually kicked ass. Noticed the John Lennon "stomp your foot" gag at the beginning (from Beatles Australian tour 1964). And the Beatle bass. Wonder who their main influence was...
I think they are still great! For old dudes...:sonny:

Glad someone posted the vid, very cool, the singer/bassist Bill Malone amazingly sounded much like the gut wrenched teen of the original recording, and the lead guitarist kept his 'rock chops' in check (although he almost cut loose a bit too much).

They violated several rules of the typical bad 60s band reunions
- must wear Hawaiian shirts and shorts
- at least 30% of your set are songs that are from the 1970s/80s
- (per above) at least two songs by the Eagles
- last song is 'all star' blues jam (Roadhouse Blues being a recommended starting point)
- most songs must be 1/2 -2/3rd the original tempo, and last for 2-3 times longer

Some other 60s Band Reunion Commandments that guarantee the performance will suck muchly:

Sheet music or lyric sheets positioned upon metal music stands placed in front or next to each member;
Set must include extended 5 minute plus renditions of"Mustang Sally" and "Old Time Rock & Roll"

I love this! The Plagues! On stage!
I don't care about outfits, age or whatever. They sound great!!!!
Even the new song "The Lonely One" is cool (much cooler than most anything new from any original band I ever heard)!
Those vids make me even more a fan of this band. I'd love to have been there.
