PRETTY THINGS. Bouquets From A Cloudy Day (2014) This mammoth beast came out 9 years ago but it seems like only yesterday. Today its hotter than F in the tiki bar but S.F. Sorrow has been calling me all day. Its another Jose C fueled day of whoopass! This box is massive and includes an insane amount of goodies. I love how all the mini lp covers are gatefold. S.F. Sorrow bonus tracks: The acetate only version of Defecting Grey is to die for and Mr.. Evasion f'ing rules! My 1st post from my phone. PS...If Sgt. Pepper's had gonads it would be S.F. Sorrow. 20230826_150854.jpg20230826_151425.jpgI'm sure everyone in this group loves these guys, so here we go.

Small world - I was just looking at my copy about 15 feet away from me and was thinking of pulling it to get something out to listen to. There's a killer documentary dvd from Reelin' In the Years that was only licensed for the boxed set (footage quality is as good as it gets) - if you can track down a copy of the box you won't be disappointed.

Yes, the doc is indeed a must have. Play the S.F.

The doc is a must have. Play the S.F. Sorrow bonus tracks 1st. But I warn you...have a change of drawers near by!

Had a thumb drive loaded on my Oppo player and found 2 Pretties songs: Vivian Prince (monster late cut from the band, beautifully recorded), and a true stereo mix of Don't Bring Me Down off a weird Euro lp comp on a budget Phillips reissue label (whomever did the mix got a great balance and stereo spread, no vocals one channel and backing track on the other poop, nice and punchy).

One more from the box. PARACHUTE (1970) just about perfect. Its a great one while blottoed! If the Beatles still rocked in '70, they'd be the pretty things. Parachute bonus track.

I think I'll watch that again tonight. Not too many Pretty Things fans around here.
I ended up watching the documentary again - that Blokker Festival footage is insane, with Vivian Prince leaving his drum kit and playing on anything/everything in his path, including bashing out a beat on Phil May's back.

Nah, plenty of Pretty Things fans I am sure. There'd be even more if we could listen to them sitting in your Tiki bar. Looks great. Is that a pinball machine?
