This is more of a 70's music question/topic, but as it deals with psychedelia, figured i'd give it a shot here: Everybody knows about the stereoptype of 'bow-chicka-wow-wow' hard funk soundtracks in adult movies, but there are a few early porn flicks that actuallly feature some killer psych, particularly ones with occult/pagan themes in the plot (in case you didn't know, early porn flicks actually had plots and scripts, and believe it or not supernatural elementas were a frequent plot device in these movies and even in softcore flicks of the same era)... anyway, a band(?) called Enneppitti created a wild soundtrack for a pagan porn flick called Devil's Due (1973). The music arranger(also the leader of the band?) for the film was someone named Robert Oliver, a ridiculously common name of course. Needless to say online searches for Ennippitti turned up almost nothing....also, there's a ridiculously titled occult '75 porn flick called 'Rites Of Uranus', lol, that features an unbelievably crazy/complex Canterbury styled prog/psych soundtrack that even sounds kinda like something from the UK Vertigo label or even like something from a Tiger Lily tax scam release.

Sooo....anybody else out there know anything about Ennippitti or any other psych soundtracks from vintage porn flicks and where/if those soundtracks can be found on vinyl or otherwise. I know alot of the psychy German library music from Euro porn soundtracks and the infamous 'Vampiros Lesbos' are out on reissues, but is anything else like that from the skin-flick music scene available?

Sounds funny. Sorry to ask, but are those movies worth seeing at all? And where can you find them?
I often wish there would be a soundtrack available from old movies I see. Recently I saw a film called "The California Kid" with Martin Sheen, which I really liked. It had a kind of trashy funk/psych-soundtrack that was pretty cool. Well, it was neither funk nor psych in the strict sense, it had a cool flow, interesting instrumentation, and at the same time a certain basement vibe.

Axel, beleive it or not these very obscure low budget films are mostly available both on the internet and on dvd, but, unfortunately, no, most of them are *not* worth seeing; Devil's Due was solid, though not a classic. If the concept of occult sex films sounds awesome to you i'd highly reccomend that one, but otherwise steer clear, as few of these films are very good and only handful have the kind of psych/garage type soundtracks that anyone here would be even vaguely interested in....

One of the better known examples of this would be The Cyrkle's soundtrack for The Minx. Primarily instrumental, although it does feature a handful of excellent soft-psych tracks. Sundazed did issue this on CD with 8 bonus tracks; the liner notes detailing the story behind the film and The Cyrkle's involvement make for some great reading.

Also, didn't some Electric Banana (Pretty Things) tracks find their way into some low budget UK skin flick?

Yeah, from what little i know about the Electric Banana, that was a total cash-in thing, an "exploito" bargain-bin album, so i just assumed that The Pretty's didn't(?) own any of those tracks, the copyrights on those were probably owned by the label that put out the EB alb(s) so they probly just used that music willy-nilly....it seems in general that the Euro/UK scene has produced way more reissues of erotic film soundtracks, yet, other than a very recent reissue of a Quebecois 70's porn sound track, there's almost no reissues of north American music in this bag. The Minx soundtrack may be the only one that I know of, and that certainly doesn't have a basement psych/garage vibe....nonetheless, The Cyrkle totally rule imho

A good reason to give "Erwins Zoom Party" another spin (I thought):

Although it's "...fantastic for making love!", I hadn't put it on in years. At first it seems there's a reason: Hardly garage/psych but rather 60s-lounge-pop with moaning, bubble-gum pop w/ horns and handclaps, but as things progress there are a few decent tunes: The Sweet Sound of Love's "Sleep In" is an okay organ-led groovy instro. Regardless of the annoying male/female moaning in madame Rita's "Sexology" (released as far as Argentina) has a few instrumental merrits. Improved Sound Ltd have a cool organ sound not far off from Search Party. On side 2 Can's rather short but expectedly good "Kama Sutra" wins the game, with "LSD" by the Dukes of Burlington (cool lounge-psych) coming in 2nd. Still closer to "Vampiros Lesbos" than what you're looking for, I suppose...

A fun comp, but not something I put on when the kids are around...
