R.I.P. Sean Bonniwell

:(:( Now that news has put a downer on a pleasant Christmas day. It was only a few days ago that I mentioned 'Talk Talk' should be the fuzztoned pick for CA....

Just got off the phone with Alec and he said he talked to Sean last week and even though he seemed to be doing fairly well, he knew he wasn't long for this world. Nobody seems to really know exactly what day he died though. Alec seems to think the 22nd or 23rd.

I'm very sad to hear this.
The Music Machine was one of the 1st "garage" style bands I heard as a teenager. I had the honour of having him compliment me personally on a version of his song Some Other Drum I recorded a cover of many many years ago.
He seemed to me, a top notch guy.
I'm sorry to hear of his passing

it was very sad news to wake up to on Christmas day (it reminded me of the xmas i heard the radio tell me James brown had died). He seems to have passed on the 20th (my birthday no less).

Without doubt one of the finest garage singles bands, and later on the pop-sike stuff was ace too. a star the world will truly miss.

I thought he was younger. At least he got to 71.

One of my all time favourite bands. Sean's voice coupled with the tight backing and Brian Ross' production really gave them an Original Sound!
