Not afraid to admit that I love the Ramones...In the 60s he was in the Tangerine Puppets with Johnny Ramone.

Tommy knew when to get out, they were never the same without him. He always sat real low behind his kit & had a lot of power behind his bass drum. He used to have a rope tied around the feet of the drum that went behind his chair to keep it from going forward when he hit it so hard. He knew how to drive them & they were never the same live band once he left.

I don't know whether to be impressed the news media covered it or depressed that they showed a clip with Marky on the stool?

Gave 'I Remember You' a spin. I remember an old Crazy magazine with a photo funnies appearance by the bros.

I saw the Ramones play in London at the Roundhouse in 1977. Blew my mind. Also saw them play in Sydney just a little later. Tommy was the coolest of all the Ramones, in my mind. What a great drummer, apart from the image which was perfect for the time.

RIP all of the original Ramones. They were fantastic.

I also met Marky in 1977, before he was in the Ramones. Not so impressed on a single meeting, which involved me sitting with Marky and a small bunch of NY punk hippies squatting in a circle on a warehouse floor, passing around joints and talking about the semi-famous people they knew etc. I couldn't wait to get outta there!

Did Marky sign your DUST albums?:yup:

Ha. You quoted my post a split second before I deleted it. I didn't think I should mess up Tommy's tribute page with a gripe. I'm sure Marky was/is a nice guy anyway.
I have a photo of the Ramones and I from 1978. They were signing autographs at the Peaches Record store I worked at in Cincinnati. Marky was the coolest one to talk to. At least on that day. Politically speaking, Johnny and I always saw eye to eye. :boggle:

That's not 1977, looks like late '80s early '90s to me. They were using that presidential seal thing in back then anyway. Too bad about the shitty modern crap artist ad that came up at the start too. Someone needs to kill all this autotune sythesized to the extreme bullshit music being pushed today... wish the Bros. had taken back the airwaves!

I remember the (I think) first Saints single and how big it was.

Are there any Tangerine Puppets recordings in existence?

B.B You've never been more wrong in your whole life. Just look at the drummer and you'll see that it's Tommy who left the band in early 1978. Also if BossHoss says it's from 1977, it's from 1977. None of them look anything like they would in the late 80s early 90s...well, maybe Johnny:tiphat:
