RAVENS - Listen To Me Now (limited reissue - 200 copies)

I have some copies available (black/red vinyl) of the limited (200 copies) reissue 45 by Illinois 60's group The Ravens, "Listen To Me Now" b/w "Jolly Green Giant" on Alona's Dream Records. The A-side is a great original garage tune, while the flipside is a fun version of the Kingsmen song.

The Ravens were a group of high school students at Wheaton Central HS in Wheaton, Ill. The group comprised Michael Blasucci (18) (vocals & guitar), Tony Pavolonis (16) (vocals & guitar), John Belushi (16) (drums) , Dick Blasucci (16) (bass) and Phil Special (18) (organ).

And yes, it's HIM! Drummer John Belushi, the famous actor, comedian and "Blues Brother" who died in 1982 of drugs abuse.

About forty copies of the original 45 were pressed and given away to friends and family. Only a few 45's have survived over the years, making this a record that is nearly impossible to find these days.


The reissue 45 comes with a handstamped paper sleeve and an insert with band pic + bio.

My guess is that as this post was from February 2012, and the record pressing was limited to 200 copies, you are probably too late for there to still be some available but.... Who knows!
