RIP to the Wworld's oldest teeanager

Because he was the King of Cheese. Most of the band members weren't adept at answering questions, which certainly didn't help things. They rarely laughed at his attempts at humor, and it makes watching it uncomfortable.
 
Having grown up with the guy, I'm not a fan. But, it's a good thing American Bandstand existed, even though a producer told me Clark's company would charge $2,000 to use short segments (not even whole songs) of American Bandstand in documentaries.

And yet, the Dick did put the freaking Elevators on his show, not just once but twice, and this commands respect until eternity.

His finest moment may have been the uncredited narration on Capitol's amazing "LSD" documentary LP, a masterpiece of subtle sarcasm and eloquent ridicule.
