I don't make many purchases, but I just picked this up on the 'Bay. It wasn't cheap, but it's an alternate version that to me is better than the released version. Appearantly the flip ('Excuse, Excuse') is the released version.

wowser!

missing stuff like this is the reason i hate not having spent as much time on eBay these past few months. this is exactly the sort of thing I need to hear!

Will you be sharing an mp3?

will this alternative take likely be on the delayed Seeds LPs reissues I wonder??

congrats on getting this, worth every penny/cent!

sounds great from the clip that was posted - much tougher!

Thanks. Happy to add it to my collection - rough condition and all.

I don't know if this is something that's in the Seeds catalog that Ace is releasing. Maybe Joey has seen the tracklistings and at least knows if an alternate take of the song is included??

Cool looking label and my favourite Seeds track, which is saying something since there are so many great ones. If it sounds half as good as it looks, it must be amazing!

Cool score Mikey....Alec said to email him a mp3 of the song. He can then give you a date of the recording. He has 4 different versions from masters coming out on cd next year. There are 5 SEEDS CDs coming all with major bonus tracks, 2 of which are 2 cd sets!!! SCHWING!!!!;)

Thanks, Joey. As soon as I get it in the mail I'll send an mp3 to Alec. Those Seeds releases are going to be killer. I know Alec has a slew of amazing garage-related releases slated for 2012.

Congratulations Mike. It went to a safe harbour! I sat for hours considering to pull the trigger, repeating to myself: Thomas, you do not want to start buying acetates (over and over again) It worked, and another deserving soul bought it.

Joey - will the Seeds reissues have both monos and stereos? The 1st LP (of course) kicks a** in mono - I will probably never listen to the stereo again, much like the 1st Elevators.
Future mono mix has some radically different mixes.

Am I the only one who prefers the stereo version of the 1st Elevators? I'm usually a mono man, but I actually think the stereo version in the box set sounds a lot punchier...

The stereo sounds better in the box set than the original pressings/older reissues. But I still prefer the presence and punch of the mono mix. Just listen to John Ike n Stacy how they interplay and make the regular rock'n'roll setting turn completely caleidoscopic without any studio trickery at all. Imo all that is enhanced by the mono mix :)

1st album- mono
Web Of Sound - some mono + original stereo mix (first time on CD)
Future - mono + stereo
Singles As + Bs - mono
Raw & Alive was never mixed for mono;)

The Stereo mix is too anemic for me since I first heard the mono, I never play the stereo version anymore. I have also been appreciating the Mono of Easter Everywhere since I received the recent box set version. But like what you like it is still a great record.

That's true. And I agree that mono Easter is far superior to stereo Easter.

I have the attention span of a goldfish. That is why I probably like the 45 format so much and why I still haven't been able to sit through one complete listening "session" of any of the cd's in that box set. I am in awe of those who are able to sit and listen back to back to decide what's superior, the mono or stereo. Saves me some time:)

So please, as you were gents.
