I enjoyed this. It's highly doubtful that bands like Half Japanese or The Fall heard this in their youth, but it sounds like something that would have influenced them.

The band goes into Dove Recording Studios in Bloomington and record “Underneath the Rug” however, the studio co-owner and engineer, Daryl “Arv” Arvidson, is not impressed with their musical abilities and tells them to take their tape and go home and come back another time.
