I am surprised nobody posted this yet.

Shel Talmy, the producer of the early great records by The Who and The Kinks died on 13 November aged 87. He also produced 'Friday On My Mind' for The Easybeats, the song that broke them internationally. And lots of other stuff, even The Damned.

Shel and his (early) recording engineers got some of the rawest guitar tones and most powerful drum balances ever...inspiring thousands of
upcoming 60s garage/teenbeat musicians worldwide. George Martin always got more credit as an innovator from the lamestream media
and Rolling Stone Magazine 'Boomer' crowd. IMHO Talmy had better ears back then. R.I.P. to a legend.
