I knew Skip Groff as one of D.C.'s better AM radio DJs in the '60s and as the owner
of some of the area's best record stores (Hit & Run; Yesterday & Today) in later
decades. He was the 'seed money' for a lot of the D.C. punk scene and owner
of the Limp Records label as well. Always fun to talk to Kim Kane, Ian MacKaye
and all the other scenesters that worked at/hung around his record shop too.
Super-nice guy who would call me at work whenever he got in boss local 60s 45s
like The Flys on Myskatonic etc. so I could swing by and snag 'em. Rest easy,
my friend...

Sad to hear this. I always enjoyed talking to him and bought several cool 45s (the British Walkers' "Watch Yourself" was one I remember) at his store when I lived in the D.C. area from 2001-02.
