Smash...! Boom...! Bang...! German beat boom. Cool new Bear Family series.

They did these about ten years or more ago I thought. Well, I have I have the two Rattles ones anyway, plus the Rivets and the Lords one each, and I remember seeing ones on different 'scenes', like Berlin, Hamburg and Frakfurt. A good set to see reissued, from the video the ones I have look the same. Long live The LORDS!!!

First I knew about that book. Pity, it costs a fortune now. Maybe I should just get the rest of the CDs. I got the Rattles, the Lords, Ruhrgebeat and Beat im Suden, but just because they were the ones they had in the shop at the time. It's good to know they are still (again) available. Michael, tell Hans to do another print run of the book.

.. all CDs of the set are a must have (except Hamburg). I will ask Hans Jürgen for a print run (sending him your quote), let's see what happens ....

Last I heard from Klitsch a year ago, he said that an updated edition of "Shakin' All Over" is his first project after retiring, which I believe is due soon. About high time, too, as some of the ex band members are moving on. When trying to piece together a Steadfasts story for Ugly Things I found one member being dead and the other a nursing case.

Mr. Klitsch confirms hes retired from his English and Art teaching now and there will be an updated version of Shakin all Over (he indicates no date tho') but before there will be a picture book with official "autograph" cards of German 60s groups, he's preparmg togehter with Heinz Dietz / Mathias Buck , so there's hope....

A Steadfasts story for Ugly Things? Cool!! How far did you get with it?

Not beyond the two dead ends mentioned above. With the Loosers story in # 37 being so easy to research (I could cycle to one guitarrist's flat and met the other ten minutes from my work), I was probably spoiled...
Yeah, the Steadfasts are far from your place, though pretty close to mine. I wonder, should I try to investigate a bit? I'd be interested in the Steadfasts story too. Plus, who knows if some 45s might show up... I met a younger guy some weeks ago who found 5 NM copies of "Girl Be Steadfast" or so at a fleamarket in the area. He gave them all away to friends.

That sounds nice, too!
