I already enthused about the Society "You Girl" / "Lonely" 45 , which was released on B-W records a few months ago. It's a monster. But I didn't latch on to how great both sides of the Piccadilly Circus 45 is (also on B-W), until recently. It's hard to pick a favourite side, but I think "Do You Feel It" is really a killer, and in my book would rate in the top 1000 on the garage-o-meter if it had been released in the '60s.
For my own benefit, and maybe for some others who like me have not been paying 100% proper attention, could this topic be devoted to great releases like this? That is, really cool songs that were recorded in the mid '60s, but remained unreleased on vinyl 45 until recently. It would be great to get a listing of these...for my selfish benefit as i would like to seek out and purchase the ones I have missed in the last 5-10 years! Here are a few ground rules for inclusion
- must be released as 7 inch vinyl 45 (Preferably not ep's though because I personally dislike the fidelity-challenged ep format)
- must not have been released in the 60s (except on acetate or tape of course). So no reissues.
- must be at least 4 or 5 on the garage-o-meter. No dredged up dreck from the bottom of the barrel.
If it's half as good as the Piccadilly Circus, it's in! Please list your favourites.
