Still looking for those elusive G100 tunes...(groan...not this guy again...) :)

WOW!
That sounds great! Thanks for sharing that info. I'm not in any real hurry for any scans. This is just a fun project in my spare time, and I'm more than happy to wait for Mike's book, and for what you have in store for the website!

When I read what you and Mike (and others)share here with all of us,I'm amazed at the wealth of information that pours forth whenever a query comes up.You guys are like walking encyclopedias on these groups and their records. I've certianly learned a lot from this site. Allthough I'm not a record "collector" per se, I really like the music, and the history behind it. Whether it's label info, dead wax numbers,or who D-tuned their Mosrite on take four using their Kustom amp set at eleven, I like it all!;)
Cheers!
PS who's The Purple Virus? Never heard of them

whilst we're in the asking mood there are still 2 songs in the G274 I have not heard - they are not comped, not on the Gyro series, and google turns up no mp3s or videos.

Purple Virus -The Law Of The Jungle (D&C)
Steps Beyond - Go On Your Way Girl (Mark VII)

can anyone assist please? I hope I'm not being a dumbo and they are out there and I'm simply missing them.

Here's a scan of the Purple Virus 45. Sorry if it's a little unclear...

I've been informed that the wait will be over in two o twelve...P.V. (full name withheld because after all, it is the law of the jungle) is coming on a shiny little coaster from yes... Ace/Big Beat Records.

Ah Joey, bringer of news of excellence... :)

Just imagine what the world woulf be like if Brother Hoss was the cheif librarian of the Secret Vaults of the Vatican!

Hello to all of you again!

The old website seems to be unaccessable for the moment, so I though I would put my "want" list of mp3 tunes I would like to have to complete my project of finding all 200 tunes from the G100 list.
I would like to thank all of those folks who have been so kind to help me out. I am still very happy to share the tunes I have to anyone who asks. Here's what I do not have:
Denise - Chaos*
Greg Barr & The Barr Association - Another Boy*
By Fives - That's How strong My Love Is*
Just Too Much - Come Back*
Botumles Pit - My Girl*
Shepherd's Heard - But That's Life*
Vectors - It's Been A Day Or Two(St.Lawrence version)*
Blue Condition - Lost Love*
Fugitives - Loney Girl*
Wanderers - I Feel So Blue*
Sounds Unlimited - To Be In Love*
Scorpio Tube - White Birches
Chentelles - Time*
Runaways - Your Foolish Ways
Inferno - Girl,Girl*
Sound Extraction - Tina
Savages - You're On My Mind*
Reasons Why - Melinda*
Ascendors - My Friend*

* means a label scan would be very nice to have as well
This is just a personal project that I started almost 2 years ago now.

For those who collect/appreciate/listen to rare 78's. I have managed to find practically ALL the recordings that were issued on the Black Patti label out of Chicago with the exceptions of ones that are thought not to exist(yet). Black Patti records were only released for about 6-7 months in 1927.They are all very rare. Some being MUCH rarer than others.I also have label scans for most of them too. There's some pretty killer blues on a lot of these.

Thanks in advance to anyone who wishes to help out with my project.

My compliments to the folks who created this site. It's very nice!

Totally diggin' The Botumles Pit's version of "My Girl". Ineptness has truly been raised to an art form with this one! (And I mean that in only the sincerest nicest way)

No need to thank me:). I'm grateful to ALL of the friends i've made here at the forum for THEIR generosity. I just started a little ball rollin I guess....
