One more killer that's under the radar, this time a blazing version of The Kingsmen tune given a Sonics-"esque" treatment:

DivShare File - The Breakers-Long Green.mp3

I'm hoping to put together a vinyl release of these snot nosed soul/r&b influenced tunes I've posted in the near future (I'm still sitting on some more goodies). That's why I waited to post them until I gained access to the "inner sanctum". Although I hope to appeal to the hardcore garage fanatic by featuring rare tracks they may not have heard, my aim is to actually pull some new fans to the music. I collected rare soul/r&b for many years before my musical journey brought me to appreciate 60's punk. Most of these records are actually like a trail that led me here, so I'm hoping it would work for others.
Still a long ways to go as there's a few records I don't own yet that need to be included in the first volume.
Any feedback is appreciated(well, MOST of it) and any suggestions to records I may have not heard.

I haven't brought a comp for many years but Mikes Monsters would get me re-baptised in the murky waters.

Thanks for the encouragement! Actually may have some labels interested in making this happen sooner than later.
So it looks like the 1st volume of
Rhythm & Blood: Rockin' Raw Soul Rebels will likely see the light of day.

How many people would like to get a lo-fi cd version prior to this going to vinyl? I'd be willing to share this first with SS members to get a little feedback. Been sitting on some of this stuff for a long while now and I'd like to share it!

Bring it on...

Very much so!

With the vast number of bar-DJs that dont have the funds, inclination and/or monocratic-fantasies of the "mod-DJ"-flock, an LP-comp of the soulish side of garage seems to be a theme with a potential clientele much broader than even a well researched and presented garage comp.

I agree, I think the potential for new garage fans is huge. Sometimes you just have to put the music in a new context so those with a different perspective or background can digest it properly.
All it takes is great song to make you say "I must find more like this" and I know this from my own personal experience.
For an example, you could take well known tracks from BFTG like The Syndicate-My Baby's Barefoot, The Banshees-The Prefer Blondes and even The Dogs-Don't Try To Help Me and package them in way thats appealing to someone who is interested in Northern Soul. In fact, most copies of The Dogs are already in soul collectors boxes due to the flipside. It's just a matter of connecting the dots for people and leaving a trail of musical bread crumbs for them to follow...

kickass! just listened to all your recent links, and imho this is thee *monster* (though The Xanadus' "Bankrupt..." from the same playlist is damn tuff too!). definitely happy to know that "soul garage" comps might be the next big thing in the lo-fi rarities realm 8-)
