I recently acquired my number one want after years of searching. It is:

The Marquis - The Drifter/Love - Earl 1004

The label is from Salem, Oregon. I assume that the band was from that area. According to the SJW number, the record was released in January of 1968.

The aside is a band original as far as I know. The bside is the Country Joe & the Fish song from their first LP, but done in a garage style.

Here are the label scans & links to .mp3 files.

I think that this record is pretty scarce. I know that Barry & George have a copy. And one more Northwest collector. Anyone else?

Congrats Rich, the best Xmas presents are the ones you buy for yourself. The MP3 links play fine for me. A cool 2 sider. Thanks for sharing with us.

They play fine for me too but after the BOSS said it was a extremely dodgy site...I wish I hadn't gone there.:(

Thanks for posting this! I remember hearing about this record about seven or eight years ago, probably from the other northwest collector you mentioned, he had a "stall" at Crossroads records when they were still on Hawthorne in Portland, been wanting to hear it ever since! Kind of a mess but in a good way...

Well, according to my phone, G45 Central is a dodgy site! Not sure why exactly. I know what you mean though, lots of scary pops on zippy share these days, streamed the tune without problems though.
