How many label variations exist of Talk Talk? Nerdy question, but I'd like to know.

Excempting the obvious black stock copy (which I couldn't locate right now)

Are there more than three? And what is the black and white one? A promo?

Promos are white with either red or black print. No difference in value.

1st press is the red/white edge / black label. I have two copies. West coast pressings only as far as I know. The common black with silver was when the label switched design from the red/white edge / yellow text original sound.

The die cut company sleeve (it isn't really a picture sleeve due to the large cut out for the label, hence, die cut was only issued for the "Hey Joe" / "I've Loved You" release. I've never seen any other MM Original Sound label 45 in this sleeve in warehouse loads / unsold store stock. They either had plain sleeves or the original sound label sleeves hyping the oldies but goodies series. All of my black label MM 45s issued pre "Hey Joe" came in those company 'oldies but goodies' sleeves.

My nephew swears the b&w promo of Talk Talk is a different [superior] take that the plain black label version and the mono lp release. I never noticed the difference myself, but I usually play the promo, so I may be immune. Sean Bonniwell has complained that the promo 45's often had different takes but didn't like to elaborate. The WB promo lp is a perfect case in point. I bought it and sold it because it had double yellow line over and over again, even though I did notice the different mix and sound effects on Eagle Never Hunts The Fly.

I played them back to back before starting this topic and could not hear a difference, so if there is one, it must be miniscule. Maybe more noticeable on a high end set-up or hot stamper related, rather than anything else?
