The Official Quantity Find list

However, just after the auction ended, two copies were placed by another seller (his brother?) as buy it now items for $99 and $75 respectively, both unplayed in the custom printed sleeves......
Ii contacted rollin7 saying it was rather dishonest to sell multiple copies at the same time for varying ( much less) amounts and he responds that I still got a great deal since copies have sold for over $400, check youtube, etc...(Y.A.W.N.).
for the first time, I am refusing to make payment on a completed auction.
Re: “dishonesty”

Your interpretation seems to be a bit subjective. Committing to buy something and then not, would appear more concrete.

If you discover you are being ripped off, you have every right to cancel the deal.

But...the dealer listed a price that the buyer agreed to. How is this ripping someone off? I understand the circumstances pertaining to having multiple copies, but is it really the dealer's rights to divulge this? It's a grey area, I suppose, but when I purchase a record I've been looking for at a price I was willing to pay...I'm typically happy.

I would have no problem paying my winning bid price if the seller put another copy up, say, a month afterward. That is the smart way to sell an item in quantity if you do not wish to let the bidders know.
Yet, having his brother selling copies for buy it now prices far less than my winning bid 1/2 an hour after my winning bid ended, plus the seller ending auctions early (not a proper thing to do) for less money than my winning bid...hey, then I can play that manipulation game as well. I'm not paying for my win.
I have had bidders win an item then ask me to cancel their winning bid, for whatever reason, and I've done so without any hassle or retribution.
I asked the seller to cancel the auction and that I would buy a copy for less money, the same price that they are offering to other bidders. He still claims I "got a great deal" because the 45 is a $400 item.

If that seller has associates selling from the same source at much cheaper prices, I would feel ripped off. I'm sure MTM would have been even happier if he got the 45 for $75 and could then put the balance saved towards another 45. More 45s = more happiness.

It still blows me away how desirable this record has become as of late, especially after being essentially shunned by garage collectors as being too "heavy" for at least two decades.

Band members selling their old records on the internet is kind of a by-product of the technology age, unfortunately. That's how all the copies of the Chevrons V on Nook hit the market.

Don't see why this should be an unfortunate thing if done in a straightforward way. Because before the internet sleuthing dealers / collectors could buy remaining copies from ex-members for peanuts and flip for good cash or swap for other 45s? Personally I'm happy for every former garage-band-member putting up dead stock: Gives you a chance to buy a decades old record in great shape AND gets well deserved cash to a musician that likely has seen next to nothing for his 45 back in the day.

Glass Sun, both 45s, amount not known based upon copies offered recently (2018).
Ebay seller rollin7, the guitarist for the group, has been offering unplayed copies of both singles on ebay. I placed a bid for "Silence Of The Morning" and won it for $285. However, just after the auction ended, two copies were placed by another seller (his brother?) as buy it now items for $99 and $75 respectively, both unplayed in the custom printed sleeves.

A few notes for whatever they're worth - According to eBay "Completed listings", Auction in question ended at 19:24, winning bid was made in final seconds. Cheaper Buy It Now copies ended at 16:48 and 14:56 respectively. Auction copy had a $99 starting price and was autographed while BIN copies were not.

Winning bid was probably a snipe set up well before the last few seconds.
The Cheaper BIN copies may have ended then, but that doesn't mean the bidders saw them. It's all a matter of timing.
Record collectors generally don't care about autographs. They're basically looked on as being "writing on label/sleeve".

WOW...$300 more for an autograph...SUCH A DEAL!!!:flush:

I was at work the day of the auction close, putting in a 10 hr day, and did not see the buy it now items put up prior to the end of the auction.
Had I had time and the opportunity to check ebay, I would have canceled the snipe bid.

Noted that last night another copy sold for $392. I would think that the seller regrets that he sold any copies for $99 and is unlikely to list any more copies (presuming he has more) at that price.

How many copies of The Primates - Don't Press Your Luck do we reckon are out there now?

I snagged one for about $350 this week, which seems like a decent price but I guess it depends just how many are now out there.

I got 4 copies of Euphorias Id from a band member in the mid '90s. I also had 50 copies (two 25-count boxes) of Richies Renegades on Polaris that I got directly from label owner Joe Melino in the late '80s. Also got about 7 Fumin Humins from a band member in the late '90s or early 2000's. All quantities of those 3 records long gone!

It appears there is a seller on Ebay with multiple copies of The New Musical Express single on Atwell. That's been a pretty tough one outside of a small circle of collectors.

Looking at poopsike as well, this seems to have popped up a few times now since 2017. 6 copies from three different sellers, the 7th now on eBay from one of those 3 sellers. I'll add it!
