The Purple Passion - the rarest of the rarest?

Fuzzy tune

Hi everyone

I've discovered few minutes ago a fuzzed out rendition of the classic Smokey Robinson's hit. Cool female vocals, harmonies, fuzz guitar, that's what we like.

I include a scan of the 45, but I was unable to track down any info about it. Issued on Fevre, the only other release on this label I'm aware of is the well known "Up In My Mind" by The Spontaneous Generation.

Has anyone ever heard about that mysterious bird?

Yes the price is quite low for an "obscure" 45 but as I can't find anything about the band or the record, I've assumed it was rare ;)

I have this record.....don't think much of it, I'd be glad to get $50 for it. Vocals are boring.

Ahah it seems that I am the only one the find it cool! Any idea about the date Buck?

Somebody needs to do a "Purple" comp sometime...I remember from doing TBM ratings that there's at least a few goodies...Purple Prism, Purple Underground, etc.

Some garage collectors don't consider anything with brass to be "garage"; but many are too good to ignore, such as the Werp's - Love's a fire - which actually sounds better with trumpet, compared to the BFG version.

Correction: The price is quite inflated for a sub-mediocre record that deserves obscurity, thanks to dull remake versions. G45 translation - a 45 that was in sales boxes for $10-15 for decades becomes a dancefloor fave to the cliques of mindless sheep.

Disc was released between 1970-1971.
