Just wondered if any of you good folk might have some photographs of Denver's Rainy Daze, or of the Carter/Gilbert songwriting team, that you might share? Does any one have a copy of the sheet music for Acapulco Gold?

I have a couple of pictures on my hard drive - from Colin's blog if I recall correctly?

I hope this means there's a Rainy Daze CD in the works!
Maybe, somewhere down the line. In the meantime I am in the process of writing an article on the Rainy Daze for Ugly Things, I've carried out in depth interviews with Tim Gilbert and Dave Diamond so expect the full inside dope (Acapulco Gold, of course!) on Carter/Gilbert, Rainy Daze, The Diamond Mine, and Horses.

Great news, Gray. Would love to see The Rainy Daze on Tune In. I have a handful of Colorado music papers from the era and I think there are some Rainy Daze tidbits. If so I'll scan them for you.

Thanks, Mike, that would be great! Hopefully a legit reissue of the Rainy Daze will happen, it is something I have been trying to initiate for quite a while.

Is there any chance you could scan it for me? I believe there are several shots of the band on the reverse.

Cheers!

But of course! Only on the condition that you let me know when the issue is out - I have to read it. Tim Gilberts record "If We Stick Together" is really nice. He and Carter (R.I.P) were a good writing team!

Sure thing, I have to finish writing it first though! Tim's solo 45 is great, Early October is very Buckleyesque!

I have two pretty cool clippings, Gray, both with the same photo, but from early in the band's story. One mentions heading to the West Coast to record for Spector. I think I have a current email for you so I'll send them now.

Thanks, Mike, they are excellent! BTW, Spector was never interested in signing the Daze - it was just PR bull!
