Many folks here are familiar with the New Roadrunners who recorded "Love Is" for AOK, the label also known for Tommy & Terry (story in the works), the Continentals, Bob & His Agents, the Believers, and the Shades. If you've got a New Roadrunners, you've gotta have an original Roadrunners, right? Though they never issued a single the group did record a couple of Rolling Stones tracks at AOK, including a snappy cover of "Mercy, Mercy".

Great stuff. I make it a point to check out this blog regularly.

Hate to ask...but why are the songs only edits?

Very cool! Looking forward to the Terry & Tommy story. I finally scored a copy of "Ain't No Good" about a couple of years ago, after looking for a copy for 20 years.

The edits amounted to 15 or seconds or so being clipped from the outros. For whatever reason I felt like it was the thing to do. "Hey... would you mind if I ran an edited clip on the site?"

There exists a tape of a 1/2 dozen or so songs that the brothers took with them to AOK including early versions of the two songs on the single. Fingers are crossed that it can be located and transferred.

I rather in enjoy "Mercy, Mercy" as well, Mr. Seg. It's got a nice pop and snap to it.
