This really got me...

Similar scenario for the vast majority of garage bands that survived through to the '70s I'm afraid; although some who survived the early seventies then smartened up a little.

I saw them live in NYC in the mid to late eighties and they sounded punked up
Riffing like crazy throughout their fabulous repertoire.

However I think “I’M NOT LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE” is an absolute garage killer...View attachment 266513AEE70C-B1D7-4AD5-99A3-56D4292C0972.jpeg47E961C1-D8FF-4063-8D8B-946DA779A6ED.jpeg8D4D986E-B431-4D49-A272-209D04B503AB.jpeg

That entire post was a sad thing to read, I know the article wasn't to bring attention to U2 , but all the nonsense & gibberish concerning them & their self importance, politics & "personal reflections" is just plain self indulgent bullshit, perfect background sludge for "politically correct" pool parties & backyard barbecues all over America this summer. These yuppie idiots need a good blast of "Trout Mask Replica" or "The Stooges" to feel something real ! The Kinks might be fun to see as their own "tribute band" in a bar somewhere. I hate to think how awful their new material could be. They did have their day though, with a short but magnificent run of 45s. They should just rest on their reputation & be done with it. Here in the States we have a series of small theatres & concert halls where the has-bens & the never were make a living playing safe & tepid crap before suburban baby boomers - it is a terrible thought to think of the Kinks joining in on the "zombie circuit".

Stay home, guys !!!
