unknown acetate? any ideas

I concur at around 4...decent enough, nice amateurish quality and some OK leads, but the tempo is fairly slow and not really manic and/or memorable enough to lift it above a 5. I would be thrilled to find it in the wild though...

Thanks all for your comments and opinions. I of course over graded as I own it now, which is usually an extra 1 or 2 mark.

i do like the primitive sound and if not for the lead guitar break it really is quite pedestrian.

Anyone care to hazard a guess on a year? I love to hear from the experts.

i'd rate it a nice and solid 3.

great find, and the fidelity is top notch regarding it's an old acetate.

my points of criticism:
-songwriting is ok, but nothing great.
-singer has a good voice but doesn't deliver.
-sax: i like saxes in garage beat songs, but this guy here has no idea what to do with his instrument and generally rather hurts the song then benefit it.

it's a shame because as i said the recording job and the pressing are top notch.

MopTopMike said this is probably 1965-1967 and given his superior knowledge (to me anyway) I would defer to his opinion. But one thought: I am guessing this was recorded with the intent to release it as a single and at 3:33 it's a bit long for that time period. Not many 45s broke the 3:30 mark before 1968 or so.
