Possibly this was discussed in the booklet of the recent VI comp, but as I dont own that one...

What's the difference between the two "velvet illusions" labels:

did one come before the other? I only own the "metro video" variant, does "metro media" sound better/different?

also how come that "mini shimmy" is so much scarcer than the other 4?

Gray Newell's indepth story on these guys will be in Ugly Things #33, due out in May.
 
There is no difference in the recordings, just the label name switch form Media to Video. I'm sure the big conglomerate media outfit Metromedia provided the reason for the name update.

the change of label was do to another company already using it.
Mini Shimmy was done later and not that many ever pressed
 
The 'Tune In' CD collection is great! It was a must get when I first heard about it (along with one by Hardwater). You guys sure had some wild stage outfits, it sure would have been fun to have seen you walking the streets of Pendleton or La Grande back in the day! :)

I still have all seven outfits, they still look like brand new
