Velvet Underground & Nico question about mono albums

I couldn't find a clear explanation online.

I have 3 mono copies of the Velvet Underground and Nico - one with the upside-down torso (head, shoulders & arms of Eric Emerson) on the back photo and one with the sticker covering the torso photo. I just bought one airbrushed so there's no torso in the photo, but it is a true mono cover. The airbrushed photo is common on the stereo covers, but are they common on the mono?

The vinyl for all three releases seem to be identical mono pressings as far as deadwax etchings.

In my experience I'd say about an even split between airbrushed & not airbrushed mono copies.

There are two distinct pressings of the LP, however.

East & West coast.

A quick way to identify the differences is the side 2 matrix.

One says S2 (west) & the other SIDE 2 (east).

Promo copies of the LP have either White (west) or Yellow (east) labels.

The Emerson copy pictured below is inscribed SIDE 2.

The airbrushed copy pictured below is inscribed S2.

Or just review this site for more detail than any sane person could require. A jar of Excedrin might prove the perfect accompaniment...
