This week I bought around fifty 70s era promo lps. While they would all be mint, around half of them have storage warps. I hear really good things about the Vinyl Flat Record Flattener. Has anyone on here bought it and gotten good results? If it works as good as they say it does, these thin vinyl 70s lps should flatten out rather easily.

I use an unclamped tortilla press

dropped into a emersion bath.

Groove distortion will be your biggest problem and owning an oven that can accurately hold 65 degrees celsius.

A pal of mine bought one recently and successfully fattened a couple of records that were absolutely unplayable. One did end up with a bit of a heat warp with some 'whooshing' for a song or two , but all things considered it made a chicken out of chicken shit. The other one he flattened for me had one big warp he flattened perfectly with no heat damage at all. He stressed that you have to be very diligent in monitoring the process, but he's done so many that the thing payed for itself quickly.

Pauli...Did he buy the Groovy Pouch? It's supposed to regulate the temp properly, but if put in a oven things could go wrong.

I'm pretty sure that is it. he told me he puts it in a pouch, but you still have to be careful. I asked him to do me a favor and flatten a very rare New England record for me and it worked perfectly. He attempted another one and it had noticeable heat damage but still played with the 'whoosh' i mentioned
. I didn't care..without the attempt it was worthless.
