WANTED: Massachusetts goodies

so, guys, please post anything you have re: "MA groups" (of course no need to post stuff that has been published to death, or remains lp sleeves or such)..

THANKS! THANKS! THANKS!

Browsing through old local newspapers online (requires a subscription but you can get a free trial for a week) should provide some interesting bits. However, I've found Massachusetts is not so well represented as other states on newspapers.com or newspaperarchive.com. I have a theory that perhaps Massachusetts papers didn't cover the teen scene as much as papers in other states, but it could be I haven't looked enough.

I have scores of articles from the north shore area, they had a weekly section called the Teen Scene.
TBM reproduced some of the group pix and bios.
I would say newspapers.com only has 25% of newspapers archived on their site that relate to this time period.

it's true, not a lot of stuff on newspapers.com and ...archive.com BUT many digitized collections are out there. i found 23 other papers, and that's only a part of the whole thing.

the downside is that the scan quality is often really bad. i came across great photos which are almost worthless due to poor scanning.

i don't have enough time for digging, that's why the site is only barebones yet.

@Mike and chris: if you got cool stuff handy & in digital form, please consider sending them my way.

@gregor: love that sleeve. the vinyl record must be the THINNEST piece of wax i've ever seen. it's almost a "flexi", i'm scared to even play it..
