I'll be selling at the WFMUI Record Show this weekend. I have table #C22 on both Saturday and Sunday - down the third aisle. Some garage 45s, yes, and LPs, fanzines, cheap 78s, books, etc.

Stop by and say hello.

In between show days, had to return home but will be back for the final go-round on Sunday. Lotsa haggling and lookers, but not many takers. Doncha love the nerve of some guys, seeing the sticker price ($100) and then asking what the "best you can do" would be? So a reply of $75 is met with "I was thinking "$40!!. Keep thinkin' dude!
I posted a couple of biggies / great ones in the Set Sale section, if you are interested, have a look.
Here are some of the hi rated garage-o-meter garage 45s I spotted while scurrying around in the pre-show dealer set up yesterday:

Iguanas - Black Suit $650
Me and the Guys - I Loved Her So $450
Alarm Clocks - $2700
Foggy Notions - $600

I did not hear of anyone scoring a bargain in any genre. Lots of dealers, but I would say it is 70 - 30 in favor of LPs. I found a few things marked cheap that immediately went into the sale box for re-sale.

Love that haggling, Mike! I get that all the time! I love the guys that show up in the last 10 minutes of the show thinking you're gonna just start dumping stuff. My last show someone pulled almost $150 worth the lp's out of a box and offered me 65 bucks for them..when I declined, he says, 'I thought you were set up here to SELL records'..i agreed that I was , but told him I wasn't set up to just give them away either!

Yanni moves.

I had a few of those this weekend as always; people looking for 50% discounts on cheap records.

I had a real winner many years ago at the Cranford, NJ show. This guy was so persistent in trying to get a $20 record for $10. Even after being told $18 was the lowest I'd go, he'd keep saying "You sure you won't take 10?". I finally got exasperated enough to bark at him a bit. I picked up a copy of a 45's list I'd put together and told him this was a list of rare 60's 45's that I was mailing out to a handful of heavy garage/psych collectors. I was offering discounts topping off at 1/3 off for an order of over $1,000. I said "If I'm offering 1/3 off on an order of $1,000, why would I give half off on a $20 record?" His response "I collect singles, too. Can I have a copy of the list?"

I had a good time at the wfmu fair, met some forum members, MTM and Heitkotter, Chris from Garage Hangover.... that was really cool, also spoke with Billy and Miriam from Norton about El Paso 60's rock scene and future releases on unissued cuts from El Paso (a definite comp on El Paso music and surroundings I think) such a shame I wasn't prepared enough with cash, I missed on a lot of good records. Anyway here are some I got...down to earth prices

Bobby Fuller Four - I Fought The Law / Little Annie Lou (Regency Records)
Swamp Rats - No Friend Of Mine / Its Not Easy (St Clair)
The Six Pents - She Lied / Summer Girl (Kidd)
Jerry And The Landslides - Get Off Of My Roof (P.P.X.) Hilarious christmas song!
The Mersey Beats U.S.A - Nobody Loves Me That Way / 30 Second Lover (Top Dog)

Rockers...

The Chancellors - Judy / I Can No Longer Pretend (Eastwood) Bobby Fuller Producing own label big want!!!!
Jerry Bright - Be Mine /I'll Always Be Me (Yucca) (Jim Reese and The Embers) El Paso TX
