had them in the studio in 86 or so on a radio show I co-hosted in Tucson...The Psychedelicatessen..they were super cool guys with really good taste/influences that had high aspirations for the band. We played mostly current bands on the show (Chesterfield Kings, Unclaimed, Crimson Shadows, etc) and these guys knew about most of those groups and were genuinely into the same stuff. They included a few Nuggets/Pebbles/etc into their set that night, but were focusing on "making it" on the strength of their originals, which drew from cool influences, but they did not subscribe the the nothing-from-today creed-o.
