I came across the original version of this track which I longed for listening to for a long time and I must say I rate it pretty cool.

Wow - I was the keyboard player in The Wild Ones and I have not heard that in 30 yrs. The Troggs version was much better, I agree, but interestingly, they exactly copied the Chip Taylor/Al Gorgone demo, to the point of using the actual track, complete with ocarina solo. I thought the demo was amazing, but our producer, Jerry Granahan thought he could do better. Oh well.

I find the entire "kept" band aura of this thing pretty amusing.
That's Richard Burton's ex that is being hoisted on the cover.
She was their...ummmm.... sponsor ? Mentor ?
Especially Jordan Christopher's.
More than a whiff of Mrs. Robinson mayhaps?
I'll have to pull out this album from the stacks and give it a spin.

I heard it once in the 80's and if memory's correct, nothing to write home about. I dig their Wild Thing though, but it's not on the LP.

Jordan Christopher left the Wild Ones for a solo record deal at the end of '65. He also married Richard Burton's "ex" around the same time.

Isn't there also a UK version, by Hedgrehoppers Anonymous, from roughly the same time or maybe just a bit after the Wild Ones, but before The Troggs?
