7ts South Korean lock and loll. Anyone?

It's theme day here in Sacramento. Its a beautiful sunny 90 degree day and South Korean obscure 70s rock and hard rock has been calling me for a few weeks now. There wasn't a ton of rockin' stuff coming outta S.K. in the 70s but here's what I own and they're all doozies!

1st up and the cd that's cranking now is...

1. SHIN JUNG HYUN & THE MEN...It's A Lie (1972) 3 long tracks make up the LP. From the mid-tempo tripped out opener Beautiful Country into the insane 23 minute It's A Lie which is mostly instrumental, then the final track Woman In The Mist. All 3 songs are loaded with cheesey 60s sounding keyboards and primo lead guitars. I recommend this album highly.

2. SHIN JOONG HYUN & YUP JUNS. S/T (Original version) (1974) Monster grooves, funky with some fuzz guitar along with killer vocals. Actually you should start with this one. IT'S THE SHIT! The Lion Records reissue is to die for. Taken from masters and sounds phenomenal! Pay attention to track #10 Rising Sun. I think I detect a therein. Maybe moog. Wacked.

3. SHIN JUNG HYUN & YUP JUNS. Vol. 1 (remake of the above album) (1974)

4.KIM JUNG MI. Now (1973)

5. HE6. Go Go Sound '71 Vol. 1 & Vol. 2

6. SAN UL LIM. Vol. 1 (1977)
7. SAN UL LIM. Vol. 2 (1978) start with vol. 2 track #1. ZOWIE! If you dont go bonkers for track #1. GET OUT!
8. SAN UL LIM. Vol. 3 (1978)
9. SAN UL LIM. Vol. 4 (1979)

You really need to seek out all of these especially San Ul Lim. Although they were released from 1977 to 1979 they sound like they were released years earlier due to the killer fuzz all over all 4 and replete with myriad spooky keys. Even the ballads are a trip.. If anyone can recommend any other rockin' 7ts South Korea bands, post them here. I'm sending out this 1st shot out to all you guyz and girls. Cheerio.

It won't be for the taste of most on here, but there were a couple of killer full-length covers of In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida.
HE6 has a great version, but the other, which, I think is on one of the Shin Jung Hyun albums, is a masterpiece of crude sound.

I liked pretty much all of what I'd heard of these, even the later poppier sounds.

I only own one South Korean record. The first EP by the Han River Angels from 1967.

It's nothing like the stuff Frantic is showing here, but I like it.

Go straight to Guantanamera at 2.35 and Wipe Out at 8.35. Forget the other two tracks.

Great brutal fuzz, primal drums, epic vocal harmonies, and surprisingly short yet totally tripped out songs with unstoppable hooks. Really, some of the best most original Asian psych i ever heard, imo totally incomparable to any other group from anywhere.
