Another new sound system

The component B did not arrive, however a package did arrive, from Foxtel. It's the new IQ5 receiver which they sent me for free today. I opened the outer box, and no kidding, this is what came out of the box :

Surely this is an omen.

I'm pretty sure the Foxtel STB stands for Set Top Box. For anyone still reading my ravings, I have more to report. Doubling and tripling the thickness of STB on the doors of the breaker/dimmer boxes results in a doubling and tripling of the benefits. I'm sure that would continue at least up to 10 layers thick.

After tripling the thickness on the doors, I started to think the wands were becoming obsolete. They are certainly not as vital as they were before the triple thickness was added to the doors. However, they have an effect of their own, which causes the sound to "float", the soundstage expands and especially depth increases. Eventually I decided the wands were still a vital element of the STB package.

Yesterday (Tuesday) FedEx tracking said the package was "In transit", but it looks like it was just in transit from one FedEx facility (Matraville) to another (Botany). So I don't even know if it will arrive today (Wednesday) or not. It's been in Australia for more than 5 days now.

Naturally, the ready made Covid-19 excuse always comes in handy:

At FedEx and TNT, we are always evaluating how to optimize our operations to meet our customers’ expectations. COVID-19 has disrupted supply chains globally, and air cargo capacity is extremely constrained. To continue providing the best possible service for our customers, we are making several adjustments to our services and transit times globally.

Temporary suspension of FedEx Express Money-Back Guarantee
The impact of COVID-19 is causing local, state, and national governments around the world to issue work and travel restrictions on a daily basis, which are impacting our ability to meet our high standards of service.
As a result, Money-back guarantee (MBG) has been temporary suspended for all FedEx Express service till further notice.

You are using a courier, but Australia Post is very bad. It has been in a state of decline for years. I am sure covid is now being used as an excuse in many cases to just be even slacker. I have been waiting for a small parcel from within Australia for five weeks. How can that be? The whole service should be subject to a major review, but I doubt that will happen.

Hopefully, your parcel arrives soon

In America it's called "Never Let A Good Crisis go to waste" :tiphat:

There is now no doubt in my mind that leaving the crystals outside in the sun for 2 hours has a MAJOR beneficial effect on the sound quality.

I just put the sealed 10kg Component B drum (as delivered) under the stairs near the Breaker box.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! :yikes::yikes::yikes::yikes::yikes::yikes:

The "B" is still in the drum, sealed inside metal bags, and the result is beyond awesome.

Woah there Mark! There are only so many times you can't double the performance before you've far exceeded the quality of the original recording! :boggle:

But great news! I guess you'll be busy producing a new batch of magic tape. I may be able to help you some time next week...

I don't really claim "double" the total performance. I mean double the difference made by the previous treatment. Saying "double" at all is probably misleading. It's really better described as pushing things toward a completely new sensory experience.
The "Kegg" is the best improvement I have ever heard, hands down.

I'd really like to know what the usual industrial application is for component B - just to be sure this factory isn't solely servicing your needs

I don't know if there is an industrial use for it yet. It might be purely a research substance. It's a nanocomposite, very hard to manufacture I believe. If it's used for anything, it would be for inks, paints or coatings used for blocking microwave radiation.

I opened the Kegg. The sound quality went up immediately just by removing the lid.

However it was the next step that really blew the lid off!
