Another new sound system

Well, that's a fascinating theory but not really what I think is going on. What I think is happening with the streamed music is this :

Until recently, we had never heard simple unpolluted reproduced audio. Because it's hard to squeeze additional fidelity out of any polluted audio source without STB technology, we assumed that you needed super high resolution to achieve that. I'm putting forward the proposition that you do not need super high resolution to achieve super high realism. You need the absence of electrical distortion, or as Furutech puts it, electrical and mechanical resonance. Then realism simply falls into place naturally, at reasonably modest resolution. I'm also guessing at a reasonably modest standard of high fidelity system also.

A visual analogy - we don't need stronger spectacles. We just need to clean the ones we already have.

Please allow me to translate that into English. "Well, that's a fascinating theory, but" = You should be certified and locked up.

That's okay, I can imagine how it sounds to others!

I'd accept your theory, but only if the first half of the equation had been done with electrical conditioning materials; ie, the extraction, digitisation and processing of the original recording. After all, as you've implied previously, recording (+production), and playback are two halves of the equation in achieving the sort of realism you're hearing.

But what I'm really saying is ALL recordings are being hopelessly crippled by the AC. Even mastertapes from Abbey Road Studios recorded at the highest resolutions currently possible. But any (professional standard) recording, including Spotify standard, can sound real (by my current standards) if the AC is corrected at playback. If the AC was also corrected at the recording studio, who knows what level of realism could be achieved? Perhaps the very best '60s recordings DID have less AC distortion at the studio. No 5g in those days, for example.

A forum member requested this. He said the 45 version is currently only available on CD with fake stereo and reverb added, due to original master tape unavailability. I will take it down in 24 hours (or earlier if it's a problem)

The graphene bag / Black Wand is improving every time I listen. It's learning. This is truly weird. I told you graphene wanted to help, and I really think there is something in that. Everything you ask it to do, it tries to do. And then it gives you more than you even asked for. I mean it's not just a little bit better, it's spooky.

I wonder if 10kg of graphene would be twice as good as 5kg?
If pure graphene placed next to the wand is this good, what would 10kg of STB Black mix be like? So many questions...so few answers..

Not wanting to wait till I had time to acoutre my main sound system, I accoutred my active laptop speakers (RRP $800AU). After a very nominal accoutrementisation, I conducted an audition. Improvements were across the board, but what stood out in particular, was that middle and high frequencies were improved, with high frequencies being lifted and separated. Sound stage was increased in all three dimensions. I was surprised, because I didn't think there was much scope for improvement in these compact speakers. The music was electric and hung in the air, as compared to pre-treatment. As usual with similar treatments in the past, percussion was the most improved.

Postscript

After writing the above review, I played some contemporary music. The most noticeable difference with pre-treatment was that the music sounded smoother and much easier on the ears: previously it tended to be harsh and tiring on the ears. This is a major improvement! Bass was noticeably tighter and punchier. (Note, I only used one square of SBT, and three strips on the entire system.)

Fantastic. I recommend trying a 15-20mm strip of THIN tape wrapped 2 or 3 times around the USB(?) connector that goes from the laptop to the speakers, right where the plug goes into the laptop. Until I send you some STB Platinum, you may have to secure the wrapping with some tape of some sort to stop it unwinding.

Unless the connection is bluetooth, then obviously there is no connecting cable.
