Another new sound system

Maybe the power of the Nuclear bricks was over-activating some of the Diamond brick ingredients?.
I am happy to report that 20 Nuclear bricks is considerably better than 10. Massive bass power! Truly gigantic soundstage. Plus clarity in all frequency ranges.

Maybe Diamond and Nuclear need to be separated. STB Apartheid? Possibly, the Nuclear needs to be paired with a "B"-poor version - Diamond may contain too much B.

Our street has a power outage for maintenance for 10 hours today. It’s impossible to do anything without power or lights.

I will make some more Nuclear bricks. I had to remove the treatments from the meter box last night because the council notified me that access to our meter box may be required today. I put all the nuclear bricks from the meter box into the distribution box and their efficiency there is much greater. I’m wondering if the mains actually passes directly through the meter box. I don’t think it does.

Make sure to ask your electrician when he returns! Did you remove the treatments from behind the meter?

Yes - I will ask him, plus a lot of other questions I have. I removed the treatments from font and rear, as I didn't know what was going to happen with the outage. It wasn't easy! The STB left a lot of glue residue over everything which needed turps to remove. Especially that large mat we stuck on the back of the panel. It disintegrated and was a pain to remove with turps. It took two of us 2 hours to do the whole job. After everything was cleaned, it looked too clean. I had to rub chalky dirt over everything to make it look "old" again! The telegraph poles in Rose Bay are rotting away badly, and have to be replaced, so I am expecting a visit from the the electric company. I won't replace the rear treatments (using Nuclear STB) until that is done.

I just returned 10 Nuclear bricks to the front of the meter box. It makes a good difference, but the distribution board has a much greater effect.

Hello to Mark and everyone following this topic . It has taken a bit longer than I wanted it to, but I have a series of reports on the effect of the composition Mark sent out a while back on several audio components. I'll start with power conditioner/surge protectors and then move on to power cables, speaker cables, streamers, DACs & so on. I'm back selling hifi again & have access to a variety of high end gear, so I thought the advantages on several brands at different price points would be of some interest.

I pretty much covered the bulk of the covers of these following products with my samples & then did some serious listening & found the following :

Furman PL 8C ($340)
Background noise dropped & became "blacker". Sound stage improved, while sound depth showed even more improvement. Dynamics & transparency also improved, my system sound "quicker" with a better separation of instruments. Overall, a noticeable improvement in all areas mentioned.
Transparent Powerbank ($695)
Similar improvements across all areas , but not as much as with the Furman. The biggest difference was in dynamics & transparency. Less of an improvement in sound staging & sound depth. The improvement in speed was also very noticeable.
Torus TOT ($1,149)
Improvements here as well, but nowhere as evident as with the less expensive Furman. I suspect the better the build and parts of the more expensive units, the less noticeable the changes would be and I was right. The Torus on it's own is an incredible unit & perhaps Mark's newest mixture will show gain here as well. I'll be interested to repeat the same tests with the newer composition.

I'll have a report on Nordost speaker & power cables ready to post in a day or so, I have a few more components to experiment with.

Hope this is of some interest & help to those following this thread,

Ned

This evening I decided to paint another layer of PlatinumGold (possibly Diamond: not sure as I didn't label the jar) on the existing patches beneath my amplifier (STB Platinum), and patches at the rear of the amplifier (combination of TFT and Platinum). I also painted the top and bottom patches of TFT on the speaker outputs. I further coated some of the patches on the internet setup. I started listening to streamed music before the paint was dry. Bass is now ridiculous. It's as if I turned the bass booster up, except I don't have one. Clarity and separation were also improved. When I later listened to some STB FLACS, I noticed an increase in detail compared to the previous night's listening session.

Hi Ned - you bet it's of great interest. I am so pleased that you have found the Platinum Pack to be useful in obtaining better sound quality to varying degrees in all the power conditioners you tried. It's very interesting that the more expensive systems showed less effect. That's probably for the best, since it would be nice if STB coud help people on a smaller budget achieve very acceptable fidelity.

Ultimately massive STB should be able to completely take the place of power conditioners (but you need a lot of Nuclear STB). Speaking for myself, I no longer use the Synergistic Research Powercell, but that's also because with the Kii speakers I don't need the extra AC outlets any more. I'll be very interested to know what happens when you try the Nordost cables. Please be sure to test the STB on a small section of the cable before applying it fully - because I have had some problems with glue residue when removing the STB.

Thanks again, and all the best to you Ned! Great to know you're involved with high end retail again. What a great job!
Mark

The paint you have is Diamond. It's incredibly satisfying to simply paint on better sound, isn't it? Not to mention addictive.

I am continuing to get incredible results with Nuclear tape on data cables. I have started doing the cables in the patchbay. It turns out that almost any data cables in the patchbay will improve the sound when treated with Nuclear STB. They don't even have to be connected to the sound system. Just the data cables which supply the TV, internet etc. It's nuts.

Yes, it's more addictive than crystal meth, but I suspect it's much healthier. I'd be surprised if you haven't noticed improved video sharpness, saturation, and sound on your connected audio-visual equipment.

I'm listening to music again this morning, and the observed effects from last night were not transient or imagined. The music has definitely reached an astonishing new level of clarity, separation, punchiness and realism. Full respect for Diamond: I haven't observed any brightness in the sound like you reported; only positive changes.

The non-Nuclear formulas (Diamond, Platinum etc) do seem to have more volume and brightness. But I have made so many changes over the past week, it's getting really hard to report anything with accuracy. There is definitely nothing wrong with any of the formulations, especially Diamond which is the best non-Nuclear, (and also the closest to Nuclear in composition).

The Kii speakers have digital tone controls which I was using to increase bass and decrease treble, by about 1 db each. I wanted to decrease the room reflections a little, which seemed a bit bright and harsh when first installed. The bass also seemed a little weak (not anymore!). When I started with the Nuclear treatments, the bass became so powerful that I decided to set the tone controls flat again. This seemed to restore the balance to the sound we are used to. It's only a very minor change. When I put the Platinum/Diamond back in, the brightness increased, and in one listening session, I felt it was a bit harsh. But thinking back, that's the way the Kii speakers sounded when I first installed them, and it's the reason I set the digital tone controls the way they were.

Our house has an alarm system. I was able to make a massive improvement to the sound of the Kii system by treating all the alarm modules and cables (which run up the side at the left). With STB Nuclear of course. I haven't quite finished the job yet.

The improvement was like upgrading to a new set of speakers or a much more expensive amplifier. It was huge. Amazing. The alarm system was stuffing up the sound beyond belief. I wonder what else is wreaking havoc on the sound quality?

Here's a complete list of initials of members who will receive the Nuclear Pack as requested. They will go out early next week and I'll provide a tracking number as soon as they are on their way. The list is just to make sure that I have everyone covered (as per your requests). If not, please let me know.

USA - TF, GB, AP, JD, SC, NC, MM, AB, RS
EURO - WS, CH, TW, MM, SF
OTHER - CM (UK), SF (AUS)

What happens when you install almost unlimited amounts of Nuclear STB?

The central image grows until it becomes lifesize. Eventually it is sometimes bigger than the room.
Peripheral images extend way beyond the speakers, in all dimensions.
Bass fundamentals become purer and purer, and deeper and deeper. They grab you by various body parts. Sometimes by the throat, sometimes the stomach or chest. Sometimes by the brain.
The bass also develops its own physical mass, coming at you like a shockwave.
Details emerge that you never noticed before, time after time, even when you thought you'd already heard everything in the mix.

Incredible possible LEGAL ways to employ Massive Nuclear STB

1 - use Nuclear STB as a carpet underlay for the entire listening room (or house)
2 - alternatively, have wooden floorboards made with Nuclear STB on the underside
3 - Mix Nuclear STB with paint, and paint the inside of the roof with it.
4 - Use the paint as an undercoat for skirting boards, or even walls
5 - Paint the outside garden walls with it.
6 - Paint the underside of the stereo equipment shelves with it (or use the adhesive magnetic sheets for the same purpose)

These ideas came to me after I heard the incredible SQ benefits to be had by laying giant sheets of Nuclear STB on the floor in the listening room, prior to slicing them up. And also how giant sheets on the balcony also improve the sound, even from outside the house.

How much will 25 gallons of paint cost me? I have a large house to cover, inside and outside. Three coats needed, I assume.
Since you know the formula, it wouldn't be too expensive. You'd probably need about $5k of each of the two expensive ingredients. And $1k worth of the cheap fillers.

However to avoid the unnecessary stress of costly legal action, we recommend purchasing the genuine STB product, available now at Cranks "R" Us. $300 per ml.
