I just watched this film about Bert Berns, and wanted to recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it already. It features great footage and interviews with the Strangeloves, and many of the artists and songwriters associated with the Bang! label, as well as some Atlantic related soul artists. Interviews with Keith Richards and Van Morrison among others. It covers the mob connections of Bert Berns and others in the industry. It's good!

The first single I played over and over was on Bang (I'm too embarrassed to mention the title/group) . Sounds like my kind of film. Chances are, it'll taint my early childhood memory, but that's okay.

Strangeloves, McCoys, how bad could it be? Don't think you'll find anyone disrespecting mid-60s pop on here.

Oh.. how I wish that I was so cool as a kid. Listening to this song today, I can now recognize all those missed sexual metaphors.

Cinnamon - Derek

(at the age of five, I played this song over and over).

How strange. I played that Cinnamon song over and over as a kid too... not so much the flip of Dance Watcha Wanna by 'Jerry O' though. Cinnamon was pretty good bubble gum; I'd rank it with some of the Archies album tracks I guess. Bang Records is so cool I got the t-shirt!
