I use Spotify to find post-sixties music that I may like. Today, I was listening to a Spotify generated playlist, which was all contemporary stuff except for Jacqueline Taïeb's 7 heures du matin. I bit of a surprise! Most Spotify tracks also appear in the Apple Music store, and indeed it it was there. There are several transfers, but only the "remastered" one sounds any good; and it appears on a comp called Femmes de Paris (among others).

Numero Uno has some great ‘60s garage band compilations only available digitally including the Hallmarks and the Inmates, both with unreleased material. Amazon offers digital only downloads of Columbia groups, also with unreleased songs, including the Blue Beats, Wildlife, and King Bees. I’d prefer CDs, but I download the tracks and burn them to disc myself.

Interesting that Columbia groups are being made available - it seems like some of the major labels that released garage tunes (CBS and Decca come to mind) didn't rerelease or license any one shots in the cd era. Were they charging outrageous licensing fees or had ridiculous minimum run numbers that would have been impossible to sell through?
