Found this, in all places, Teen Magazine (August 1966). It's amazing they received any national press. I've searched the Newspaper Archives in Santa Barbara from '65-'68 and have never found a reference...

I borrowed the microfilm from the Santa Barbara library archive in 1994 and there was not one mention of the Dovers spanning 1964 to 1967. However, I did find newsblurbs on several local teen groups
