E X T E N D E D P L A Y - Are you game?

wow! some great Ep's out there

will try and scan some of my Aussie and Euro ones soon

That's it for me. I didn't include the better known EPs - Missing Links, Sunsets, Atlantics etc; figuring you'd rather see some of the things that don't show up often and haven't been featured elsewhere.

How about we make a compilations of EP-only tracks? Europe, Britain/Aust/NZ/Africa; USA/Can; Francophone; & Spanish/South American. Send me your high fidelity masters and artwork, and I'll pay to make the CDs. Everyone will get a copy per track contributed. Remainder I'll sell to recoup costs and profit will go into future projects.

G45 is a great place for the exchange of information, comparing anal retentiveness, and as an occasional marketplace. But it could be a lot more than that: it could be a platform for disseminating sixties punk for the benefit of all fans of the genre. I recall that Frantic suggested something similar for the How Unknown Can You Go thread, as did I, but there was no interest. Pity.

10 years ago members on the old Psychotic Reactions forum were distributing many CDs, including Wyld Canada which was compiled with the input of more than one member. I would definitely like to see some compilations like you suggest, especially of anything previously uncomped, and will help as I can.

What started as a great idea with the forum comps began souring when they were put on file sharing sites. They started appearing in mutated forms on bootleg comps and were in conflict with people who were investing money into legitimately releasing the music in a proper manner. Many of whom are friends of ours on this very forum. I still like the concept of the idea, but at the same time believe there has to be consideration in the distribution.

I suppose we could do a minimal CD run keeping it among trusted contributors, with a three year moratorium on sales to the public. That would give projects in the pipeline a chance to see fruition. A well done legit reissue is always going to sell anyway - I don't see any interference there. I would be nice to have a few more people on board though.

I have to say this thread is an absolute feast for the eyes. Some amazing EPs I have never seen before. Sorry I don't have any juicy ones to add, I just have a few relatively common French ones by French artists as that is the only place their tracks appear, but otherwise I stick to 45s. I may have to reassess after seeing this thread.
