Question: when I visited the late Dave Gibson in his house at Carondolet St. near Downtown LA in 1980, he showed me all his equipment he used for making his "Moxie" comps. I bought a couple 45's from him and he showed me a 45/Acetate by a band going by the name "Electric Train". I knew that the Electric Train was a first generation San Francisco band and the label showed what I thought was a Cable Car from SF; nothing more than this, the band name and a title I forgot over the years. As a "sucker" for SF-bands I tried to buy this 45 from him but he refused to sell it. In all those years I tried to get information concerning this 45 and the band but to NO avail. Anybody here who could tell me if this 45 is out there somewhere in the hands of a collector? Dave resettled to Portland, OR. later and I never met him again and he tragically died only 45 years of age in 1996.
The poster is from 1966 and it shows the "Electric Train" as I saw it on the label of said 45 and it is not a Cable Car from SF ;)
The band entered "Golden State Recorders" in late '65/early '66 to cut 2 tracks "Try harder/Through winter and sunshine" which remained on acetate till Dave Gibson issued them around the early 80's on one of his Moxie Records.
