Here are two song from two EPs by The Fabian’s Boys from Singapore. The band features Alistini Bajuri, who was also in The Cliffters. The Fabian’s Boys were one of the few bands who sometimes recorded in Bawean (aka Boyanese). The other famous one was The Swallows. One track from the first EP here, ‘Bersiar-siar’, appeared on the recent Pop Yeh Yeh comp, but ‘Terona Taoa’ with Alistini singing is a top-notch tune and demands hearing as well. The two slower songs are also pretty good. The other EP features pop singer Norfizah and the much older actor/singer M. Wari. The music for his tracks is okay, but his singing style is too straight for my taste. The Nofizah song ‘Janji Chelaka’ (Wicked Promise) is my choice here.
