Since I'm looking for a new one, I just want to know what guitar strap you guys like. I'm really tired of the one that Hendrix used on Woodstock. Seems like at least one band member in every band in the late 60's had that one...

I was lucky to score a vintage Vox strap a few years ago for a bargain, that's the one John Lennon used with his Rickenbacker. If somebody wants to shoot me during a concert, it may save my life. They get produced again, but are pricey.
Another option is the "classic" 60s belt, a thin leather strap with a small shoulder pad, Fender makes these nowadays and they're quite good. You can also look for vintage ones of these, shouldn't take too long.

I never thought about guitar straps until recently our lead guitarist bought those thin leather straps, the ones Kai is referring to, for all of us. They look pretty cool, I think. I don't know where he got them, but they were just 10.- € each.

I like that type of leather straps (Fender). I bought a Gibson, though it looks nice, is too "beefy", too thick. Is the Fender ones those type of straps that usually came with the guitar?

The Fender ones are not too beefy, they feel quite light. If they are exactly like the ones that came with the instruments back then I can't tell, but my guess is yes, or very close.

Ok I`m gonna be a bitch here for a moment...when this version of the forum started, it was understood that the Country Club section was supposed to be about original 45s only or at least mainly. Things have strayed from that bigtime lately. This is more suited to "the way it used to be"...not a big deal but, just sayin`.

It`s up to Bosshoss to say things like that I guess but...I was bored and feeling bitchy :)

Leather has too much slippage when sweat and slides around on a nice suit jacket. The suede side can leave those flaky bits on said jacket - not cool. So I used canvas straps and being a vegetarian for years made the meaty smell on my right shoulder stomach turning.
